50s were a decade marked by friendship between USSR and China. One can’t overestimate help that USSR provided to China in post war development - technologically and politically. Following Stalin’s death in 1953 Nikita Khrushchev started de- Salinization after his famous speech at 20th Party Congress in 1956. Mao strongly opposed this decision which led to split in world’s communist movement. In 1960 USSR withdrawn over 1600 specialists working in China, trade dropped 3 times and Sino-Soviet friendship came to an end.
